Above-average food price increase in May
Consumer prices were 3.9 percent higher in May 2019 than in May 2018. Food prices jumped 5.6 percent.
Seasonal product prices (potatoes, fresh fruits and vegetables) grew by 15.2 percent. Flour’s price augmented by 9.8 percent, but the price of eggs and milk dropped 6 percent. Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices grew by 8.6 percent. In comparison with April 2019, consumer prices jumped 0.7 percent and groceries became 0.9 percent more expensive.//
