In May-July, the total number of employees was 4,699,000
Employment remains at a peak, 57,000 new jobs were created in the domestic primary labor market in one year, the number of public employees decreased by 11,000, and the number of people commuting abroad was 6,000 more compared to the same period of the previous year, so on average between May and July, the total number of employees was 4,699 thousand.
In the most recent month, 66.7% of the population aged 15-74 were present on the labor market, compared to the – seasonally comparable – activity rate of 66.5% measured in the same month of last year. In the same month, the unemployment rate according to the international statistical methodology was 3.5%, following the 3.3% of the previous month and the 3.9% level measured in the same month of the previous year.
In July 2022, there were 231,000 jobseekers in the register of the National Employment Service, which represents a slight increase compared to the negative record of the previous months, but is still very low. Compared to the data of the same period of the previous year, this value is more than 30,000 people less. The number of job seekers decreased by 11.8 percent compared to July 2021, while compared to the previous month, it increased by 0.3 percent. In the month in question, a total of 31.7 thousand jobseekers requested to be registered, of which the proportion of those registering for the first time was 11.5%. The number of new entrants increased by 11.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
