The world-famous Korean monk chef is coming to Hungary
The secret treasure of the Korean culinary world, nun Jeong Kwan, the philosopher-chef of the Netflix series “Chef’s Table”, is coming to Hungary as a guest of the Korean Cultural Festival in September.
On September 25, between 15:00 and 17:30, Jeong Kwan will give a lecture on the art of temple cuisine, health preservation and the importance of sustainability. Anyone can join the live performance online via the Korean Cultural Center’s Facebook page. The philosophical chef who stirred up the culinary world Connecting the worlds of philosophy and gastronomy, Jeong Kwan creates something special as an exceptional individual. He never went to culinary school and didn’t have his own restaurant, but in 2022 he won the title of “Culinary Icon of Asia” in the 50 best Asian restaurants in the world. The Korean Buddhist monk approaches cooking not as a chef, but as a Zen practitioner.
