Food retail sales in Hungary decreased by both in value and quantities
According to Nielsen market research company; the value of food retail turnover reduced in 10 developed European countries, including Hungary, in the last quarter of 2009, compared to the same period of 2008.
Among the tested 21 European countries, retail sales decreased in the following countries in last year's fourth quarter, compared to the previous October-December period: Ireland and Slovakia (6-6 percent), Czech Republic (4), Finland (3 ), Portugal (2), Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Germany and Italy (1-1).
Nielsen registered decrease in quantities in six countries together with Hungary.
The rate of inflation remained 1.3 percent in the fourth quarter in the European countries, while last year's totalinflation was 1.5 percent.
