Hungary can transport live cattle to Belarus
Hungary can transport live cattle to Belarus again, as the Belarusian Veterinary and Food Safety Authority terminated the previously general entry ban imposed, because of the bluetongue disease – the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) told MTI on Friday.
According to the information according to the decision of the Belarusian authorities, the Hungarian live cattle shipments can enter Belarus from 3 February 2015 except from Csongrád, Bács-Kiskun Baranya, Békés and Tolna counties.
The mosquito-borne viral disease attacks only cattle, sheep and goats, and wild ruminants, the bluetongue virus is harmless to humans nor the potentially contaminated food produced from animals poses a threat. (MTI)
