Hungary stands by the two-pillar EU common agricultural policy
Hungary stands by the EU’s common agricultural policy (CAP). This is the interest of the Hungarian farmers – the Minister of Agriculture told M1 news channel.
Fazekas Sándor recalled that if there were no agricultural subsidies, the price of quality food would hit the sky and the ultimate beneficiary is the human kind who buys the food.
It is Hungary’s primary interest to maintain the current or very similar agricultural support system in the next EU budget cycle. The present support scheme serves the interests of both farmers and consumers. (MTI)
