Hungary ranks 19th among EU countries in the MNB’s competitiveness ranking
Hungary finished 19th among the countries of the European Union in the competitiveness ranking of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) with 47.4 points, which is slightly higher than the average of the other Visegrad countries (46.7), but 4.5 points lower than the EU average (51 , 9) – emerges from the central Bank’s recent Competitiveness Report, which was presented at the MNB’s press conference by Baksay Gergely, Executive Director.
He said that the Netherlands is at the top of the rankings, while Romania, Greece and Bulgaria are at the bottom of the list. Of Central and Eastern Europe, Slovenia (53.1 points) and Estonia (52.5 points) had the highest scores, while the other countries in the region lagged behind the EU average. Sweden, which performs best, scores 67.3 points out of a possible 100. (MTI)
