After Hungarian Tourism Quality Prize Programme comes European Quality Scheme
The program was launched three years ago with aim of honouring tourism service providers supplying outstanding services, and to create a unique certification system.
The programme was initiated by the Hungarian National
Tourist Office five years ago, then in 2004 the National Tourism Board took
over the project. The HTQA started its pilot programme in 2004 with voluntary
hotels and restaurants. This year 24 hotels and 3 restaurants have applied to
join the programme.
At the same time, HOTREC (Hotels, Restaurants and Cafés in Europe) has also
evaluated the "European Quality Scheme", in which two countries –
Switzerland and Hungary – were requested to participate in testing.
