With the innovation of scientists from the institution’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the traction force can be at least 5 percent lower, which can significantly reduce fuel consumption, and moreover, it does not require any special investment. Recognizing the significance of the invention, the experts filed the patent application, but they are continuing the development, because the success of the application depends on knowledge of the soil properties. The survey could best be carried out automatically, using software, and the necessary settings could be made by artificial intelligence based on the results, according to the announcement. This development requires a lot of data, which is why the researchers are using simulations, in cooperation with the BME Industry 4.0 Technology Center, where they continue their work in the Precision Agriculture Research Group, they added. The center was established in 2018 to help domestic businesses effectively apply the latest technologies in order to improve competitiveness. One of their main target groups is small and medium-sized enterprises focusing on improving their processes, and with their activities they strive to become key players in industrial development in Hungary – the institution’s website states.
