Hungarian success at the World Cheese Awards
Breier Farm Kft.’s 3-month-aged Tanya cheese and 9-month-old Pilisi cheese were among the best at this year’s World Cheese Awards.
The World Cheese Awards is an annual world competition with a history of 30 years. This year, entries were received from 43 countries on five continents, and more than 4,500 cheeses were judged. The World Cheese Awards will take place in Trondheim, Norway on October 26-27, 2023 – the jury members who judged the items were invited from nearly 40 countries. Highly qualified producers from the large traditional cheese-producing nations (United Kingdom, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria…) take part in this competition every year, but this year Spanish, Japanese, Mexican and Norwegian producers were also included in the absolute best 16 categories. . The absolute category was won by the last, Norwegian entrant.
