Hungarian success at the 2024 Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart
The IKA Culinary Olympics, held every four years since the 1900s, was held in Stuttgart within the framework of the Intergastra Trade Fair between February 2 and 7, 2024, with 88,000 visitors. More than 1,200 competitors from 55 countries, including 88 teams and more than 520 individual exhibitors, created a magical Olympic atmosphere in the halls of the exhibition.
The Hungarians performed excellently at the Olympics, about which the Hungarian National Gastronomy Association provided continuous information on the social media platforms during the event. 7 gold, 11 silver, 11 bronze medals and 7 diplomas were awarded in the following categories: Regional team, Culinary Art (individual chef), Culinary Artistic (individual chef artistry), Pastry Art (individual pastry chef), Pastry Artistic (individual pastry chef) artistry). For the first time in the history of the Olympics, Hungarian competitor Máté Kismárton won the gold medal in the individual confectionery artistry category with the maximum score.
As the patron of the Olympics and the only Hungarian member of the WorldChefs association, the Hungarian National Gastronomy Association is dedicated to professionally and personally helping those competitors who ask for all of this during preparation or competition. The MNGSZ’s 8-member staff was outside during the entire time of the Olympics, so they helped the Hungarian competitors from early in the morning until the announcement of the results with information, interpretation, packing, purchasing equipment and entrance tickets, clarifying results, requesting feedback, and providing food.
