Levente Magyar: all successful applicants of the economic development program will receive the support

Levente Magyar stated: the patience of the entrepreneurs proves that they believe in what the Hungarian government, the Vojvodina Hungarian Association representing the Vojvodina political organization and the entrepreneurs themselves can achieve. “This is a partnership, joint work, this gives the whole thing credit from the beginning,” he said. Despite the difficulties, the payment was now able to continue, and the politician also promised that if things “continue to trickle down” as before, then in the coming months those applicants who were left out of the current round will also be paid. On Thursday, contracts were signed with 49 successful applicants.

The tenders concerned the development of medium and large economic and agricultural enterprises

The state secretary emphasized: they are still working to be able to continue the programs, but it is difficult to make concrete promises in the current unpredictable environment. He expressed his hope that by the end of the year, or by 2024 at the latest, “the possibility will be created to continue these programs with the previous schedule and with the previous dynamism”. István Pásztor, the president of the Hungarian Association of Vojvodina, highlighted at the joint press conference that the successful applicants were able to finance their investments in the last 14 months through their own efforts and loans, but they knew that they would definitely receive financial support from the Hungarian government and through the Prosperitati Foundation, which implements the program. they will receive the support they have won.

The Hungarian government initially earmarked HUF 50 billion for the first phase of the Vojvodina economic development program, 2016-2018, but later the budget was increased

In the program, the greatest emphasis was placed on agriculture, tourism, and the development of small and medium enterprises, the goal was to stop the migration of young people abroad and to reverse the process. The second phase of the economic development program started in 2019. According to the press material distributed at the event, more than 14,000 entrepreneurs received support in the Hungarian government’s economic development program worth a total of HUF 68 billion, which, taking into account ongoing investments, results in a total investment of HUF 149 billion in Vojvodina. The program thus contributed to Hungarian people being able to prosper in their homeland and to reducing emigration.
