Hungarian apricot in Vienna
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) revealed that on the 31st week, the price of apricot was HUF 400/kg at the Budapest Wholesale Market, 20 percent lower than on the same week of 2015. At the Vienna wholesale market one could buy apricot from France, Italy, Turkey, Austria and Hungary – it was sold for a net price of EUR 1.6-2.5/kg. Hungarian peach was also available – just like peach from two other countries – and it cost EUR 1.4/kg. According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), Hungary’s like-for-like poultry import grew by 8.7 percent to 15.2 thousand tons in the first 5 months of 2016. /
