Hungarian-Indian agreement on fish breeding
The agreement over aquaculture, carp genetics and freshwater fish breeding programs was signed on 2 February in India, by Czerván György, Secretary of State, responsible for agri-management and Prabeer Kumar Basu, Secretary of State, Department of Agriculture of India, at the meeting of the Hungarian-Indian Agriculture Working Group – told the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) on Monday.
According to the communication of the Ministry of Rural Development, with the use of the Hungarian gene banks and breeding knowledge the breeding of the Hungarian carp species in India can bring excellent results. The practical implementation of the cooperation agreements will be provided by the Fishery and Irrigation Research Institute and the Indian Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture – reports MTI.
