Hungary is in the last quarter of the EU ranking in terms of GDP and individual consumption
Last year, Luxembourg was the wealthiest member of the European Union: in terms of purchasing power parity, on the basis of the gross domestic product per capita (GDP) and per capita actual consumption (AIC), Luxembourg is leading the rankings in the EU28.
According to the data of the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat) published on Tuesday, Bulgaria was the poorest country in the EU last year, just like in the past four years. Despite the slight improvement, Bulgaria lags behind even the midfield.
Hungary was in the last quarter of the list in both categories. The per capita GDP declined by 1 percentage point over the previous two years, and the actual individual consumption per capita did not change. (MTI)
