The Hungarian farmers are active in the formation of the Common Agricultural Policy
Thanks to the calls from the National Chamber of Agriculture, the Hungarian farmers were active in the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy’s (CAP) consultation: the sixth most opinions on reforming the CAP came from Hungary. Nearly two-thirds of respondents support to retain the direct support of the farmers.
Most of the respondents considered the most important challenge the CAP facing is to ensure a fair standard of living, to handle the problems arising from the increasing in natural resource needs, to mitigate climate change and to adapt to climate change. The vast majority of respondents thought that the current CAP could respond only to a certain extent to these challenges.
