Hungary was represented as a speaker at the professional forum of the XII. ANFACO World Tuna Conference by Richárd Olajos, head of the import department of DelPierre CE Kft. The event, held in Vigo between September 11-12, brought together the most significant players in the global tuna sector.

On the first day of the international conference, Richárd Olajos also took the stage in the section entitled “Perspectives of the European tuna market”, where representatives of such defining brands and market leaders as Petite Navire (Thai Union), Bolton Food and Jealsa were present. On the Hungarian side, DelPierre CE Kft. – which is part of the French Labeyrie Fine Foods group, one of the largest fish and seafood markets in the world – was given the opportunity to speak at this prestigious professional forum for the first time.

This year, the state of global tuna stocks, sustainable fishing practices and transparency of the food chain were given a prominent role in the TunaVigo2025 program. In addition, separate sessions addressed the market specificities of the African, Asian and American regions. Technological innovations – such as the role of document management systems in the new EU fisheries regulations – were also on the agenda.

In its presentation, DelPierre CE Kft., based in Hungary, presented tuna consumption trends in the Central and Eastern European region, the challenges of import markets, and the company’s own experiences in the field of sustainable sourcing and product development. The company’s presence is a particularly important indication that Hungarian food importers are also increasingly participating in the international industry dialogue.

The detailed program of the TunaVigo2025 event is available on the official ANFACO-Cecopesca website:
