Grain bowl has the potential to become 2017’s biggest hit in overseas restaurants (too). As a type of the bowl food trend, grain bowls can be considered the playground of cooks who like to experiment. What is grain bowl exactly? A grain base, like rice, quinoa or couscous, is layered with ingredients that can encompass all food groups – roasted or boiled meat, eggs prepared in different ways, vegetables (raw, pickled or cooked) – and the whole thing is sprinkled with nuts or seeds of some kind and topped with a dressing.
