Magazine: Major league catering – Part 5

After visiting the Kaefer group’s kitchens and shops a special location came next in the programme: the Allianz Arena, the home of Bayern München football club. Kaefer can do the catering for 2,000 VIP guests at every home game. In the evening we had the chance to spend some memorable time in the BMW Welt (the brand’s museum) Bavaria restaurant. The next day we visited the Erdinger brewery, the world’s biggest wheat beer maker that is located in Erding, just 40km from Munich. 1.45 million hectolitres of Erdinger beer is brewed each year and sold all over the world. In the state-of-the-art brewery, where many processes are automated, 9 types of wheat beer are made.
