Magazine: What are vocational school students like?
Deputy director of the Dobos C. József Catering Vocational School, Zoltán Varga’s answer to the above question revealed that it is not easy to motivate students these days.
Some of the students go to study there after primary school, while others after secondary school; what is more, in adult education there are more and more students who have already earned a degree. Consequently, on the labour market 17-18 year old cooks have to compete with degree holding, motivated 20-35 year olds who speak foreign languages. Participating in domestic and international competitions mainly depends on the budget of schools and unfortunately every year less money is available for financing the preparation for such contests.
