For the first time ever Hungary was the host of the Chaine Young Chef World Championship, which is organised by the prestigious Paris-seated association Chaine Des Rotisseurs. The best chefs below the age of 27 were competing at METRO’s Gastro Academy and there were three Hungarian chefs in the jury. Contestants had to cook a 3-course menu from a surprise Black Box provided by METRO. Ádám Mede (Onyx) finished 3rd behind Michael Christiansen (Canada) and Laura Virolainen (Finland).
