Magazine: Lessons learned in Lyon
MVI president László Kovács told our magazine that they couldn’t fill a bus for the trip to Lyon to the final of Bocuse d’Or, but many people from MVI decided to travel there by plane. His impression was that the final was like a major sporting event, the venue and the many supporters both strengthened this feeling. Mr Kovács thinks that the Hungarian team achieved a great result and being there in the final meant that we have become part of a special ‘family’. His view is that we have to believe in ourselves, be proud of our specialties – especially gulyás – and learn to cooperate. We have to be present in the everyday life of world gastronomy and for that we have to make sure that young Hungarian chefs who speak foreign languages take part in international competitions.
