Magazine: Strengthening trade relations with Kazakhstan
On 3 June Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) president János Berényi and the high level representatives of Hungarian firms met the Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov and government members for a roundtable discussion, the goal of which was to strengthen economic and business relations between the two countries. Innovative Hungarian companies from the field of agriculture, the automotive industry, the pharmaceutical sector and water management presented what they had to offer to prospective Kazakh partners. With its 6-percent GDP growth in 2013, Kazakhstan is central to the Hungarian government’s Eastern Opening policy. Trading between the two countries has been expanding constantly and Hungary’s export (mainly due to pharmaceutical products) was up 34 percent last year if compared with the level of 2012. n
