Magazine: COOP honoured on Europe’s Day in Commerce
Europe’s Day in Commerce was organised for the ninth time in Hungary by the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ) and its partner associations from the field of retail. As part of the programme the Klauzál Gábor Prize and the For Hungarian Retail Grand Prize were awarded. Four COOP employees were among the prize winners. We asked CO-OP Hungary Zrt.’s chairman of the board of directors Lajos Csepeli about how they decided whom to nominate. He told that the group’s four prize winners have been in the ranks of COOP for a long time and did an excellent job throughout the years. COOP’s two For Hungarian Retail Grand Prize winners were Andrásné Dak, store manager of Kapos-Coop Zrt. in Kadarkút and Ferenc Lévai, store manager of Mecsek Füszért Zrt. in Zalaegerszeg. As for the group’s two Klauzál Gábor Prize winners, János Sipos-Tompa has been managing director of CO-OP Vasvár Kft. since 1990. The company operates 28 COOP stores, most of them in small towns and villages. Dr Borbála Selmeczyné Hegedűs, head of sales at COOP Szolnok Kereskedelmi Zrt. has been working for the company for 36 years and today she is responsible for the daily work of 156 stores. She told at the award ceremony that her success would have been impossible without the hard work of her 9 closest colleagues and COOP Szolnok’s nearly 1,800 people employees
