Magazine: Gold chains
Technomic recently published its USA Top 500 Restaurant Chains 2015 study. In 2014 the combined turnover of the top 500 chains was USD 274 billion in the USA only. From this fast food and fast casual restaurants were responsible for USD 200 billion. McDonald’s is the number one chain with USD 35.8-billion sales. Starbucks performed really well and finished second in the ranking, ahead of Subway. If current trends continue to prevail – according to experts there is a possibility for this – in 15-20 years’ time Starbucks may push McDonald’s off the throne.
