Alimentaria, one of the world’s three biggest food and Horeca trade fairs is held in Barcelona every second year. 30,000 food industry companies of Spain produce 7.6 percent of the country’s GDP and employ 446,000 people. The experts see the way out of the crisis in globalisation: and Alimentaria organisers started a worldwide promotion campaign cooperating with local and regional authorities, chambers and associations, and of course the press. Alimentaria 2012 will take place on 95,000m², with 4,000 exhibitors and 140,000 professional visitors. Collective international exhibitors will come from 75 countries to the international pavilion. There will be 14 themes of Alimentaria 2012 and the biggest will be Intervin. Organisers also created Alimentaria hub, a 21st-century system for supporting all types of professional dialogue.
