Magazine: Someone who already teaches the trade
Ákos Kolos Bardóczy, the owner of two hospitality consultant enterprises was elected member of MVI’s (Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs) management.
He told our magazine he sees the problems in Hungary’s hospitality sector and knows the reasons behind these problems. He would like to do something for the trade and finds the personality of MVI president László Kovács inspiring. Mr Bardóczy reckons he can do the most for the sector and for MVI in the fields of training and communication. He learned the trade in Austria, where he started working in 1992, for instance he was the director of two Vienna units of a fast food restaurant chain. He returned home in 2002 and started a company that specialises in quality assurance, consultancy and training, ÁKIR Kft. In 2012 he founded the Horeca Marketing Club. In his view the Hungarian hospitality sector is very much exposed. Some areas lack regulation while others are over-regulated. Mr Bardóczy’s view is that if the number of guests isn’t growing, restaurant owners can only achieve growth by cost-efficient and guest-friendly operation. There are no major culinary problems in Hungary, the trouble is with the lack of expertise in how to manage restaurants. The expert’s opinion is that today only those have a chance in the restaurant business who find a market niche, position their place well and pay special attention to customer experience. Communication is also crucial, these days 20-25 types of marketing tools have to be used.Related news
