Magazine: The path that leads to the guest
Tibor Rosenstein was named Restaurateur of the Year in 2015. The winner told Trade magazin that he isn’t very active in various trade organisations because he has always tried to preserve his independence, at the same time doing his best in his work. Still, he is in favour of restaurant owners’ cooperation because this is the only way to make progress in the trade. Mr Rosenstein sees a conflict between the younger and the older generation. He tries to avoid conflicts in general and he is proud of the fact that young chefs often come to his restaurant for dinner. His role model in the trade is Kálmán Kalla. Tibor Rosenstein reckons that he is still learning the trade, day after day. He has found the path that leads to the guest and the guests keep coming back to him. When asked about the secret behind his success, his answer is: there is no secret. They use the best ingredients and serve delicious dishes in the family restaurant. They know their guests and don’t simply feed them but always have time for a chat, too. He believes there is some kind of Rosenstein style – in terms of both personality and cuisine. About his future plans the restaurant owner told that his son, Robi is already a partner in the business. He learned the trade in excellent restaurants abroad and brought the modern trends to the family restaurant. Tibor Rosenstein doesn’t plan to open a new restaurant – but if they do something new in the world of catering, it will be something really special!
