Grand Tokaj Zrt. would produce higher quality wines
Grand Tokaj Zrt. should focus on producing wines of higher quality categories in the future, and to this end, several measures were formulated at the board meeting of the Tokaj-Hegyalja University Foundation, which also supervises the business association – György Wáberer, board member and co-chairman of the Tokaj Wine Region Development Council (TBFT), announced on his social media page.
According to György Wáberer, the board members unanimously supported the idea to achieve the goal.
The co-chairman explained:
to achieve the goals, they would build on “the exceptional wealth of knowledge accumulated at Tokaj-Hegyalja University and the centuries-old traditions”. He is convinced that all cultivation, harvesting and management regulations must serve quality aspects, because this is the only way the Tokaj brand has a future in the fierce competition. This requires a qualitative rebirth
– he stated.
“The value of higher quality grapes harvested and purchased in compliance with production regulations may naturally increase, and their price may even double the current price,”
György Wáberer wrote in his post. He also requests the support of vineyard owners and winemakers to implement the package of measures, he added.
