Bird flu: the mandatory confinement of poultry has ended
Thanks to the favorable development of the bird flu epidemic situation, dr. Szabolcs Pásztor National Chief Veterinarian withdrew the regulation on keeping poultry indoors. However, the obligation of closed feeding and drinking, as well as compliance with the minimum conditions for epidemic prevention, remain in force.

The laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has not detected another bird flu infection in poultry since the end of April. Due to the positive development of the epidemic situation, the national chief veterinarian appeared on June 20, 1/2024. in its decision no. abolished the national requirement for the mandatory confinement of poultry.
Additional rules remain in effect
Livestock keepers must always comply with the minimum epidemic prevention conditions, thus minimizing the risk of the bird flu disease reappearing in our country. In addition, the provisions requiring closed feeding and drinking do not change, and feed must also be stored in a closed place.
