London analysts: domestic consumption offsets the weakening of external demand
According to London financial analysts, the strong domestic consumption, which counterbalances the weakening of external demand, is the driving force behind the robust first quarter growth momentum of the Hungarian and other Central European EU economies.
On the basis of the first estimate presented on Wednesday, calculated on the basis of seasonal and calendar adjusted data, the Hungarian gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded the level of the same period of last year by 5.2 percent, and the quarterly adjusted increase was 1.5 percent.
