Association of logistics operators increased the volume of intermodal transport last year, but not enough
Domestic intermodal freight traffic grew modestly by 1.7 percent last year, but for Hungary in order to meet the agreed climate targets, 50-100 thousand truck traffic per year would have to be diverted from road to intermodal transport, according to the latest analysis of the Association of Hungarian Logistics Service Centers (MLSZKSZ).
According to a summary submitted to MTI on Wednesday, the coronavirus pandemic significantly rearranged the freight map last year: while the volume of water freight and tonne-kilometer performance of rail freight increased, road freight traffic fell for all indicators. (MTI)
