Poland suspends retail tax collection
Poland in response to the action launched by the European Commission suspends the retail tax collection and adopts a new, tax law amendment taxing large-area stores – Pawel Szalamacha Polish Minister of Finance said on Tuesday at a news conference in Warsaw.
The European Commission investigated the Polish special tax on Monday and forbidden tax collection until the process is completed. According to the European Commission, the tax might be contrary to EU rules that are banning disguised state support. (MTI, Lucie Szymanowska)
