Poland imposes taxes on expansion
Poland introduced a new tax that is supposed to create better market positions for Polish companies. From the middle of summer major European retail chains will have to pay a combined EUR 360 million more to the state budget than local retail businesses, due to the 1.4-percent tax rate introduced on sales revenues. An article published in the Financial Times says multinational retail chains will now reconsider their expansion plans in Poland.
