The Burger King is lagging behind in the competition
The world's second largest hamburger chain the Burger King is getting weaker in the case of sales compared to its main rival, the McDonald's. At the fast food chain, which has a different strategy compared to McDonald's the changes just starts now.
The sales of Burger King – wich has 12 078 restaurants worldwide – have been fallen for three consecutive quarters. The shrinkage rate is 2 percent worldwide, while in North America, this value is 3.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the ancient rival McDonald's has benefited from the crisis and increased the sales ratios greatly, among the lower income consumer groups. The difference between the two restaurants can be seen also in the value of their shares. While the price of McDonald's shares rose by 12 percent last year, Burger King’s shares have lost 19 percent of their value – reports Penzcentrum.hu.
