Fishing festival in the Hortobágy

1500-2000 tons of fish caught off from the fishponds of Hortobágy this year – told Sarka Béla, Chief Executive Officer of the Hortobágyi Halgazdaság Zrt. to MTI on Saturday.

At the site of the 1st Hortobágy Fishing Feast at Lake Elepi, the CEO told that the 95 year old fish farm would like to demonstrate the traditional form of fishing, the hard physical work, hand-pulling nets and the essential cohesion.
On Saturday and Sunday a total of 400 tons of fish were raised from the lakes, but the real dumping is expected in December, before the the Christmas period, when fish consumption increases – he added – reports MTI.
