Most of the announcements affected fruits and vegetables in the EU
Last year, a total of 2930 reports were submitted to the RASFF at the EU level, according to the recently published summary of the European Commission, and 88 percent of the cases were linked to food products. In the EU, most of the problems were caused by fruits, vegetables, hazelnuts, nuts, fish and fishery products, food supplements and other specialty foods.
141 Hungarian-related RASFF cases occured, of which 17 were food, 14 feed and 10 food-contact materials related. There were 24 cases of food safety problems, which is 0.8 percent of all RASFF reported cases in 2016. (agrarszektor.hu)
