– What is the biggest professional recognition for a Hungarian chef?
– I used to be the most proud of my 3rd place at the Chef World Championships and my 2nd place at the BBQ World Championships, but now the Gundel Award is my No.1 success!
– Does this recognition change anything in your life?
– This award gives me a lot of extra. First of all, I am very proud to have joined the ranks of the former Gundel Award winners – big names such as László Jakabffy, Kálmán Kalla, Tibor Rosenstein. Secondly, in the future I will work even harder to live up to this award.
– Where do you position yourself in the trade today?
– Where do I fit in? I think among those who are proud to have chosen the chef profession, who are dedicated and cherish the traditions, work hard and persevere. They do a lot for the future of the profession and haven’t forgotten where they came from.
– Where do you get your inspiration from?
– This is a profession that is constantly evolving, and nowadays you can “travel” the world and find inspiration through social media. I would like to add that I belong to the generation that likes to touch, taste and see new things before inventing something new.
– How do you see the quality of the trade in Hungary?
– Not only hospitality, but all other professions and fields are changing very fast today. The quality of the trade has evolved a lot in the last few years, it has changed a lot, but it isn’t at its peak at the moment! We are in a trough for the time being.
– Who are those colleagues that you really respect?
– Attila Molnár, Attila Bicsár, Kálmán Kalla and all the school principals and teachers working in hospitality education. //
