Salmon and rice – Picture of the day
The 2,000-year-old Japanese rice ball, onigiri (pronounced onyigiri), is not actually ball-shaped in most cases, it is flavored in many different ways – we won’t explain it at length, since we don’t show it as a gastronomic curiosity. Rather, because the Japanese, like all their traditional dishes, try to improve onigiri to the fullest; the 21st century continuation of this is Onigiri Gekijō, which means onigiri theater – chefs and food stylists perform on social platforms. We are now showing some of Yujia Hu’s pop culture-inspired “works” working with rice, salmon and nori sheets.
