The rate of rise in consumer prices in the euro area decelerated to an 8 month low in December, according to a flash estimate of the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat).
According to the data released on Friday, consumer prices in December increased in the eurozone of 19 EU countries by 1.6 percent year-on-year. This has been the smallest increase since April last year.
Analysts expected a 1.8 percent increase after the 1.9 percent increase of November. (MTI)
