‘Hidden’ threats in food industry hygiene
Food and pharmaceutical firms – but more and more often companies in other sectors too – find that they don’t comply with certain regulations and are forced to implement unexpected investments in the field of hygiene. These hygiene shortcomings are usually revealed by internal audits, inspections from various authorities or buyer audits.
PLE Group Kft.’s sales manager Zsolt Laki told that such problems usually occur in two cases: 1. old engineering solutions become obsolete as production capacity keeps expanding; 2. new production lines and technology are installed. For instance ventilation and water supply systems, liquid coolers and other cooling units have to be checked and disinfected regularly, as they can represent ‘hidden’ hygiene threat. In the last few years PLE Group Kft. acquired great experience in certified food industry cleaning and disinfecting work in the food and drink sector, in the baking and milling industry, in professional kitchens and in the hotel sector.(x)
