Overload, constant presence and chronic lack of time – in short, this is how the everyday lives of domestic female entrepreneurs and women working in management positions can be described – according to the latest survey by Számlázz.hu. Those aged 30-39 feel most rushed, but other age groups are no better off: 76% of all respondents feel that they live under time pressure. On the other hand, the majority are broadly satisfied with their income.

Számlázz.hu conducted a representative survey. One of the most significant domestic fintech companies was curious about how Hungarian female entrepreneurs and women working as senior and middle managers feel.

62% of those surveyed are satisfied with their earnings, while 28% feel their income is low, and every tenth respondent (10%) is very dissatisfied. Women working in the capital are mostly satisfied with their financial situation: they are more satisfied with their earnings than the national average (73%). 64% of those living in the county seat and 55% of those living in the village are satisfied with their income.

One interesting finding of the research is that those who run their own businesses are much more likely to reduce their income than those who work as employees, albeit in managerial positions.

The majority of female managers, 57%, work a minimum of 8-10 hours a day (minimum 40-50 hours a week). 37% work 40-50 hours a week, 14% work 50-60 hours a week, and 6% work even more. A quarter of the women surveyed (26%) work less, approximately 30-40 hours a week, 12% work 20-30 hours, and 6% work less than 20 hours a week.

Számlázz.hu was also curious to know whether female executives or women running their own businesses work more. It turned out that employees spend much more time working: 67% of them work at least 40-50 hours a week. Among entrepreneurs, 43% work the same amount.

In the survey, in addition to income and working hours, women were also asked about factors that influence their everyday lives. As it turned out, constant overload is a significant problem among them – we can also say that time is the biggest luxury item for female executives. Three quarters, 76% of women working in executive positions or entrepreneurs feel rushed at least often.

Further examination of the research results paints an even darker picture. Nearly half of the respondents (42%) feel very often – several times a week or even every day – overwhelmed and suffer from constant time pressure. 5% of the respondents said that they almost never suffer from this phenomenon.

The situation is most critical among 30-39 year olds: 44% of them feel constantly or very often, and 34% often feel overwhelmed, which is probably due to the coincidence of career building and the period of having young children.

What would help make everyday work less stressful? – asked the question in the research by Számlázz.hu. Nearly half of the respondents (47%) indicated a more stable, predictable economic and regulatory environment. An interesting generational difference emerges: only 22% under the age of 29 consider economic stability to be a priority, while this proportion is already 60% among those aged 50–59.

30% – mostly the younger generation – want more free time, and 8% indicated more efficient administration.

“There are hundreds of thousands of women among our clients, we respect and care about them. We were interested in how they live their lives, what the main challenges are in their everyday lives, whether they are business owners or employees working in managerial positions,” said Balázs Ángyán, CEO of Számlázz.hu. “The numbers show that behind success is constant presence and mental effort. Time is becoming increasingly valuable. We are constantly seeing that financial administration imposes a serious time burden on everyone. At Számlázz.hu, we have been working for 20 years to give entrepreneurs the most valuable thing in the world, and according to research, it seems to be increasingly becoming a luxury item, TIME. Time that they can spend with their loved ones and hobbies, while we take care of the administration”

– added Balázs Ángyán.
