The Waberer’s Group and Volvo Hungária Kft. are joining the fight against breast cancer with an unusual action. The two Volvo FH Aero trucks of the listed company, painted in pink, will travel around the country and Europe with female drivers in October, fulfilling the orders of the partners. The truck traveling in the country will also interpret the messages of those who have recovered from breast cancer.

Breast cancer is one of the most common female cancers worldwide, and in Hungary, according to official statistics, the situation is worsening. The data of the KSH reveal that the number of new female breast cancer cases per 100,000 people was over 168 in 2023, which is the highest value since 2001. A year earlier, 166 cases were registered, and 151 in 2021. The fight against breast cancer is an extremely important social cause, and October is the month dedicated to the fight against the disease, therefore at the initiative of Volvo Hungária Kft., the Swedish truck manufacturer, the domestic subsidiary of Volvo Trucks, Waberer’s Group, which provides complex logistics services, is inviting the attention to this topic.

A uniquely painted truck travels the country

Waberer’s Group launches two pink trucks with female drivers. One of the trucks will travel in Europe in October, while the other one will make deliveries in Hungary and convey the messages of people recovering from breast cancer, thus presenting the fight against breast cancer on a wider scale.

“These two specially painted trucks of ours also take part in our daily work, i.e. they deliver the products of our clients to the stores and our partners in Europe and throughout the country, drawing attention to the fight against breast cancer as a real moving billboard. By scanning the QR code on the truck traveling in the country, a message can be sent to those affected by the disease on a dedicated website, mogzasbantartjukaremenyt.hu, which will be live from October 9. For every message received, Waberer’s Group and Volvo Hungária Kft. also provide support to the Health Bridge Coalition Against Breast Cancer, which has been organizing awareness campaigns for more than two decades.

– said Dorottya Varga, Marketing and PR manager of the Waberer’s Group. The two companies not only support the Bridge of Health, but among those who send messages through the page, screening test packages are also raffled thanks to the Wáberer Medical Center.
