KSH: the trade balance surplus continued to increase
The euro-denominated value of exports increased by 13.9 percent, while imports exceeded by 9.5 percent in June, compared to a year before. The trade balance surplus amounted to 801 million euros, 353 million more than in the same month of last year – the second estimate of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) revealed on Wednesday.
The monthly export surplus was only 19 million less than the first estimate released on 10 August that reported a 13.4 percent export increase and a 8.9 percent import growth.
In the first half of the year, the trade balance surplus was 4.206 billion euros, 981 million higher than in the same period of last year. The exports increased by 7.9 and imports increased by 6.1 percent compared to the first half of last year. (MTI)
