KSH: agricultural producer prices declined further
The price of vegetable products declined by 14.7 percent, while the price of live animals and animal products were 1.0 percent cheaper, so the agricultural producer prices were 10.2 percent lower in March than a year earlier – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday.
The annual decline of agricultural producer prices lasts since the second half of last year.
In March, the producer price of cereals decreased by 20.2, while the price of industrial plants by 18.1 percent, compared to the datas of a year earlier, while the price of oilseeds fell by 21.4 percent. The vegetables, fruit and potato prices, however, rose respectively by 2.7, 1.8, and 5.2 percent in March, compared to last March’s price. (MTI)
