KSH: consumer prices rose by 5.1 percent last year
Last December, consumer prices were on average 7.4 percent higher than a year earlier, 0.3 percent higher than a month earlier and up 5.1 percent year-on-year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.
Analysts expected inflation to be 7.1 percent in December.
Core inflation rose to 6.4 percent in December from 5.3 percent in November and was 3.9 percent for the full year. Inflation for the retired consumer basket was 6.4 percent in December and 4.6 percent in 2021. (MTI)
