KSH: a record crop occured from corn last year
Last year, the yields of all-important autumn harvested plants were higher than in the previous year, and from corn a record crop occured. The yield increased by 42.3 percent over the previous year – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) told MTI on Thursday.
Almost 9.2 million tonnes of corn was harvested last year, 34.7 percent more than in the previous year. T the average yield reached 7.74 tonnes per hectare. The corn growing area was 4.6 percent lower than in the previous year, it was 1.2 million hectares. (MTI)
