KSH: the number of guest nights decreased by 0.2 percent in October
In October, the number of guests increased by 3.2 percent, the number of guest nights decreased by 0.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, 856 thousand guests spent 2.079 million guest nights in commercial accommodations, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday.
The number of domestic guests decreased by 11.5 percent and the number of nights spent by them decreased by 16.7 percent. 52 percent of all guest nights were spent by domestic guests. The number of guests was 489 thousand, and the number of guest nights spent was 1.074 million, of which 75 percent were spent in hotels, where the number of guest nights was 14.3 percent less than a year earlier. The turnover in boarding houses and community accommodation decreased by 21.4 and 22.4 percent, respectively, compared to last October. In the two most popular tourist regions, Budapest-Közép-Danube and Lake Balaton, 21 and 19 percent of domestic guest nights were registered, respectively.
