KSH: increase in food, beverages and tobacco imports
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) registered a double-digit growth in foreign trade’s forint and foreign exchange values, due to the demand in automotive trade last year.
The Central Statistical Office announced the detailed datas of last year’s foreign trade on Friday. The export volume has exceeded the growth rate of imports, which contributed significantly to the further improvement of the balance.
The export value in January-December was 22,322 billion HUF (80 billion euros), the value of imports was 20,392 billion HUF (73 billion euros). The volume of exports was higher by 10.2 percent and imports by 6.9 percent than the previous year's level.
The trade balance surplus was 1,930 billion HUF (6.886 billion euros), 414 billion HUF (1.371 billion euros) more than in 2010. (MTI)
