KSH: consumer prices increased by 2.8 percent in May
In May, consumer prices were on average 2.8 percent higher than in the previous year and 0.6 percent higher than in the previous month, according to the data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) published on Friday.
In the first five months of the year, consumer prices increased by 2.2 percent, over the same period of 2017. Seasonally adjusted annual core inflation was 2.4 percent in May, the same as in April.
The prices of spirits, tobacco and vehicle fuels increased with the largest extent. Food prices increased by 3.8 percent on average. (MTI)
